Encounter Data Collection - Proposed Rule - July 6, 2009 UPDATE
Minnesota Statutes, 62U.04, subd. 4 and 5 require the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) to collect de-identified encounter and pricing data from health plan companies and third-party administrators for the purpose of developing the provider peer grouping system.
To implement this data collection, MDH has developed the Minnesota Health Care Claims Reporting System (MHCCRS) to collect and process the encounter and pricing data. MHCCRS is created through Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4653.
Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4653, Permanent Rules Relating to Minnesota Health Care Claims Reporting System, was approved by the Office of Administrative Hearings on June 17, 2009, and published in the July 6, 2009, edition of the State Register.
