Hospital Total Care Report

In March 2013 hospitals in Minnesota received confidential reports updating the Provider Peer Grouping Hospital Total Care reports they first received in September 2011. The results from these reports will not be made publicly available but will form the basis for analysis of future reports with significantly updated data. In producing these revised reports, MDH carefully considered the thoughtful input it received from hospitals and other stakeholders in response to the first reports. The revised confidential reports are based on the same service dates used in the September 2011 reports, allowing hospitals to easily compare the effects of the changes in the methodology on their reports.  In addition to substantial methodological changes incorporated in this report, this report was also based on more complete data than what was used in 2011.

Based on questions raised after the 2011 release, updated answers based on the revised confidential reports are available below. These Frequently Asked Questions and Answers will be regularly updated as hospitals review the revised reports.
