Provider Peer Grouping Issue Papers

The Minnesota Department of Health issued a request for information (RFI) in spring 2009 to gather information about provider peer grouping. The information collected from the RFI and through additional background research are synthesized into a set of issue papers. These papers served as the starting point for a public advisory group to provide recommendations on the development of the peer grouping system.

Rapid Response Team Issues for Review

The Minnesota Department of Health has convened a Rapid Response Team (RRT) comprised of providers, purchasers and consumers, to provide input on significant methodological issues that arise during implementation of provider peer grouping. Members of the RRT are presented with material about a provider peer grouping decision point and related options, how the decision point fits into the broader context of the project, and some research and/or analysis on the issue. RRT members work independently with their stakeholder groups to solicit opinions about each issue presented to them and submit written comments. MDH provides a written decision based on the RRT feedback.
