May 3, 2011: "Giving Your Farmers Market Staying Power: How to Build, Promote, and Sustain a Successful Market"Farmers markets seem so simple from the outside. Vendors just pop their tents and off they go… For many who have been involved with farmers market work over the past couple of seasons, reality is not so simple. Join SHIP grantees from 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm in a conversation with Dr. Margaret Adamek, Terra Some Consulting, and David Nicholson, North Node Consulting for a SHIP Grantee Connect Call to talk about the work, challenges, and questions that surround creating, promoting and sustaining a successful farmers market in your community. Particular attention will be paid to effective outreach strategies aimed at attracting diverse community members to your market. You'll have a chance to learn more about these strategies and converse with your peers about successes and challenges.
