Welcome, Introductions and Updates
The members introduced themselves and answered the question, “What questions or comments have people expressed to you in the past month about this group’s work?”
Copies of the letter sent to Walt Kummer, Consortium Survey and Certification
Officer, by Dianne Mandernach, Commissioner of Health, were distributed to members.
The intent of the letter was to share with him some of the work that MDH is
doing and extend an invitation to observe the work of CSI-Duluth first hand.
It is a very positive step.
Communication and Education Committees
The Improved Communication and Education Subcommittees worked in the small groups, to continue progress of each group.
Reports were presented from each of these committees.
The CSI-Duluth Regional Training Sessions flier and registration will be sent to administrators of regional facilities on September 28, with a response date due by October 25. The CSI-Duluth DON team will also email the DON from each facility with the flier and registration. There will be two training sessions available, which will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., in Duluth and Eveleth. There is no cost. Registration is limited and is on a first come, first served basis. Attendance is limited to seven people from each facility. After the training session, there will be an opportunity for further discussion of regional concerns, as well as getting to know one another. Food will be provided courtesy of Don Fena, a district sales manager from TENA. He will have a booth and those attending will be able to obtain information on his products.
There was discussion about the evaluation form and the resource guide, which
are being created for these regional sessions.
There was discussion about the purpose and development of the shared practices document. Shared practices would be another way in which to allow providers to take more ownership of sharing good practices. Darcy will contact Mike Tripple to discuss the details needed for this document.
A web site will be created in order to facilitate communication about what this group has been working on and the progress being made. The web site will contain meeting minutes, a roster of stakeholder members and their contact information, and information related to the progress of the two subcommittees on communication and education. The web site will be updated following each meeting as the information becomes available.
Addendum: The web site for CSI-Duluth is now available. The web page link is:
