Proposed Data Dictionary Released
The long-awaited data dictionary, an important component of the state trauma registry, has been published in draft form. The dictionary defines the data elements collected by the state trauma registry to ensure that, for any given data element, the same piece of information is being reported by every registrar. Final adoption of the dictionary by the STAC, which could occur as soon as their June 4 meeting, is expected to result in less variation in the data and a more dependable database.
