STAC Data Elements Work Group

The State Trauma Advisory Council has formed a work group to evaluate various issues surrounding the state trauma registry. The charge of the work group is to:

  • Evaluate the current data elements collected by the trauma system through MnTrauma, the state trauma registry, and recommend any changes, additions or deletions to those elements.
  • Evaluate the current data elements collected by MNSTAR, the EMS data registry, and recommend any changes or additions needed to facilitate trauma system data collection.
  • Scrutinize the Minnesota trauma registry inclusion criteria to ensure that the proper patient population is being captured and make recommendations for change, if necessary.
  • Formulate and propose a data dictionary for the data elements in the trauma registry.
  • Characterize the need for hospitals to upload demographic data from MNSTAR to their MnTrauma registry.
