Avera Granite Falls Health Center Public Hearing

The Minnesota Department of Health will host a public hearing on Oct. 13, 2022, at 6 p.m. (via Teams) for the relocation of labor and delivery services from Avera Granite Falls Health Center in Granite Falls to a shared regional model effective Jan. 1, 2023.

Clinic-based prenatal, postnatal and well-baby care will continue to be provided locally at Avera Medical Group and Avera Granite Falls Health Center. However, labor and delivery services will be relocated to Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center.

The Minnesota Department of Health serves as a facilitator to ensure there is public discussion and engagement for any proposed closure, reduction of services or relocation of services for a hospital or hospital campus as outlined in Minnesota Statutes Section 144.555.

This statute gives MDH the authority to hold the meeting and to inform the public but not to change, delay or prevent the proposed changes, closures or relocations.
