HealthEast St. Joseph's Hospital Public Hearing

The Minnesota Department of Health will host a public hearing on April 12, 2022 at 6 p.m. (via Teams) for the closure of St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul on July 1 and the relocation of mental health, addiction services and other secondary services to other Fairview system locations. The relocation or discontinuation of services due to the St. Joseph’s closure include:

• Inpatient Adult Mental Health and Addiction Services
• Outpatient Adult Mental Health and Addiction Services will remain at the existing campus.
• Other supportive services including lab and imaging will relocate to other Fairview system locations.

The Minnesota Department of Health serves as a facilitator to ensure there is public discussion and engagement for any proposed closure, reduction of services or relocation of services for a hospital or hospital campus as outlined in Minnesota Statutes Section 144.555.

This statute gives MDH the authority to hold the meeting and to inform the public but not to change, delay or prevent the proposed changes, closures or relocations.
