Take-home Rapid Test Distribution Program

The Minnesota Department of Health is providing a limited supply of free, at-home, rapid antigen COVID-19 test kits to those disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 who may face barriers to getting tested.

The at-home rapid antigen tests will be distributed through partner organizations including local public health, tribal health, community-based organizations, food shelves, and the COVID-19 Community Coordinators.

The at-home rapid antigen tests can be used at any time. The tests work best for people with symptoms.

• Each test kit contains two tests which should be taken by the same person over two to three days.
• People using the test kits should follow testing instructions from the manufacturer.
• The nasal swab self-test can be done anywhere and can provide results in about 15 minutes.
• There is a limit of one test per person within a family, with up to 10 kits per family.
