Reporting Perinatal Hepatitis B
Hepatitis B is a reportable disease. In order to prevent perinatal transmission of hepatitis B to newborns, all hepatitis B-positive pregnant women must be reported to the Minnesota Department of Health.
Cases can be reported by completing the appropriate form below and faxing it to 651-201-5502.
- Perinatal Hepatitis B Pregnancy Report
Clinics should report hepatitis B-positive pregnant women within one working day of the knowledge of the pregnancy.

Hospitals should report infants born to hepatitis B-positive women within 24 hours of birth.
