Reporting Perinatal Hepatitis B
Hepatitis B is a reportable disease. In order to prevent perinatal transmission of hepatitis B to newborns, all hepatitis B-positive pregnant women must be reported to the Minnesota Department of Health.
Cases can be reported by completing the appropriate form below and faxing it to 1-800-334-4931.

Clinics should report hepatitis B-positive pregnant women within one working day of the knowledge of the pregnancy.

Hospitals should report infants born to hepatitis B-positive women within 24 hours of birth.

Reporting Hepatitis
Hepatitis (all primary viral types including A, B, C, D, and E) must be
reported to the Minnesota Department of Health within one working day.
