How do I apply?

How often, when, and where will the council meet?
- The Council meets every other month on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 5-7PM. Workgroups meet at various times throughout the year. Workgroup participation is voluntary. Location of meetings varies and a call-in option is always available.
What are the duties of the council?
- The council shall consult and advise the Commissioner of Health on matters related to the establishment, maintenance, operations, and outcome evaluation of palliative care initiatives in Minnesota.
- By Feb. 15 of each year, the council will submit to the appropriate legislative body a report that assesses of the availability of palliative care in the State of Minnesota, barriers to greater access to palliative care, and recommendations for legislative action.
How will council members be selected?
The Commissioner of Health is the appointing authority for the council.
How long are council members’ terms of service?
Members serve a three-year term, and may be reappointed.Current openings will complete the term of their predecessors term with varying appointment schedules.
Are members paid to serve on the council?
There is no payment or reimbursement for expenses to members for their service on the council.
