Minnesota Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility Program
The Minnesota Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility (Flex) Program was created to improve and sustain access to quality health care in rural communities and relieve financial pressures on rural hospitals and emergency medical services.
The Flex Program supports this work by funding training, education and improvement programs for critical access hospitals (CAH) and rural emergency medical services. Currently, these projects include:
- Quality improvement
- Financial and operational improvement
- Reaching out to the Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) for data and financial benchmarks, and creating educational opportunities for CAHs
- Population health improvement
- Emergency Medical Services (EMS) improvement
Reach out to health.flex@state.mn.us with questions about Flex projects or funding opportunities.
