DHS resumed background studies March 2, 2022

During the peacetime emergency, the requirement for background studies for Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) providers was waived. The Department of Human Services (DHS) resumed processing background studies for MDH providers as of March 2, 2022. Any Hearing Instruments Dispenser who have not already completed a full fingerprint background study will need to complete one during their next renewal period or when submitting an initial or temporary license application.

If you have submitted an application and a background study, please be patient as we are reviewing applications as quickly as possible. If you have already completed a full fingerprint background study, no action is needed from you at this time. For more information, please review the DHS FAQ on background studies.
