During calendar year 2025, MDH’s total advertising spending was $264,181. Of this amount, $251,654 was Minnesota-specific advertising.

Advertising MDH placed with local news organizations—defined in statute as local newspapers, radio, and television—totaled $87,913, representing approximately 35 percent of Minnesota-specific advertising spending. This includes:

Local television: $53,000 (21.1%)

Local newspapers: $20,913 (8.3%)

Local radio: $14,000 (5.6%)

MDH’s remaining advertising expenditures supported other communication channels, including outdoor advertising, agency services, signage, and outreach materials, to ensure timely and effective public health messaging statewide.
