2019-2023 EHDI Grantee Projects

The Eliminating Health Disparity Initiative (EHDI) is a grant program within the Center for Health Equity. EHDI was established during the 2001 legislative session. The program invests about $5 million dollars annually in community initiatives that address health inequities for populations of color and American Indians across eight different priority health areas.

Minnesota Immunization Networking Initiative

Project name: Minnesota Immunization Networking Initiative (MINI)

Grant Type: Priority Health Area Implementation

Project Description: MINI is a multi-sector, multi-cultural community collaboration with a mission to bridge the gap in influenza vaccinations for minority populations. MINI clinics partner with community leaders in order to provide thousands of free flu shots to minority populations who are uninsured or underinsured and others who face health disparities.

EHDI Grant Activity Outcomes: 1) Increase in free influenza vaccinations to minority populations, 2) Increase in data showing the impact of this direct service, 3) Increase in influenza immunizations in the Native American population 4) Increase in MINI clinics held in communities with the most need, 5) Increase in lead nurses who are people of color, 6) Increase in knowledge gained for MINI clients.
