Rubella Disease Statistics

Rubella is a rare disease in the United States and in Minnesota. No cases of rubella have been reported in Minnesota since 2009, and the last case of congenital rubella reported in Minnesota was in 1998. Continued success with the prevention of rubella and congenital rubella syndrome depends upon maintaining high immunization rates, since the disease still circulates in other countries.
