Petitions to Add New Delivery Methods

Review petitions considered between 2016-2021

Every year, the Minnesota Department of Health accepts petitions from the public to consider new delivery methods (the form in which a medication is taken) to the Medical Cannabis Program.

Here is the list of petitions considered for review between 2016 and 2021.

2016

  • Edibles (PDF) (not approved)
  • Topicals (PDF) (approved)
  • Use of the plant (PDF) (not approved)
  • Vaporization of Cannabis Flower (PDF) (not approved)

2017

  • Infused Edibles (PDF) (not approved)

2018

  • No petitions were accepted for consideration.

2019

  • Dissolvable oral uptake (PDF) (approved)
  • Water-soluble cannabinoid multiparticulate (PDF) (approved)

2020

  • No petitions were accepted for consideration.

2021

  • Gastrointestinal Uptake Infused Edibles (PDF) (gummies and chews were approved)
