Minnesota Laboratory System (MLS)
The MLS Influenza Surveillance Program is made up of clinic- and hospital-based laboratories voluntarily submitting testing data through a weekly survey. These laboratories perform molecular testing for influenza, and a subset of labs also perform influenza subtyping. Tracking the laboratory results assists health care providers with patient diagnosis of influenza-like illness and shows the progression of the influenza season.
