Section 1: Trimester prenatal care started by region, maternal characteristics, and program use
This interactive dashboard has many data visualization options to display the trimester when prenatal care started. The first section of the dashboard allows data to be viewed by different Minnesota regions.
Map: By Minnesota county
The map shows data by Minnesota county. Use the first two drop-down options above the map to change the data to look at specific birth year(s) and Minnesota region. Use the third drop-down option to view data by each trimester (first, second, and third or no care).
Line chart: By other characteristics
The line chart shows the percent of mothers/birthing parents who started prenatal care in the selected trimester across time by selected characteristics. Use the drop-down options above the line chart to select a birth year(s), Minnesota region, and trimester when prenatal care started. Use the “select a field to display on the line chart” drop-down to look at further breakdowns of the data.
Bar charts: By other characteristics
The bar charts show the same additional characteristics shown on the line chart. Use the first two drop-down options to select a specific birth year(s) and Minnesota region. Use the next drop-down option to view data for each trimester (first, second, or third or no care). These selections will apply to all bar charts in this section.
Section 2: Trimester when prenatal care started by maternal race/ethnicity and foreign-born status
This section of the interactive dashboard shows data by the race/ethnicity and foreign-born status of the mother/birthing parent. These breakout options were selected because data often differs by race/ethnicity. Within race/ethnicity groups, there can be differences between those who were born in the United States (U.S.-born) compared to those who were born outside of the United States (foreign-born).
Bar chart: Race/ethnicity and foreign-born status
Use the drop-downs above the bar chart to select a birth year(s) and trimester when prenatal care started. The checkboxes next to this bar chart can be checked and unchecked to show race/ethnicity groups and foreign-born statuses of the mother/birthing parent. Click “Apply” after selecting groups of interest. Selections will apply to this bar chart only.
Symbol charts: Race/ethnicity and foreign-born status
The remaining charts show data by the race/ethnicity and foreign-born status of the mother/birthing parent and other maternal factors. The birth year and trimester drop-downs and checkboxes for the race/ethnicity groups and foreign-born statuses of the mother/birthing parent below apply to the remaining charts.
