988 Minnesota Lifeline Data
The Minnesota Department of Health works with the state's 988 Minnesota Lifeline Centers and the national 988 Lifeline administrator to collect, track, and analyze 988 data. MDH publishes an annual data summary below that highlights trends in volume, outcomes of contacts, and demographic information.
For an accessible version of the data on this page, download 988 Minnesota Lifeline Data (PDF).
About the data
Minnesota residents connecting with 988 have the option to connect with a local 988 Minnesota Lifeline center or three national specialty lines: Veterans Crisis Line, Spanish language services, and videophone services for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. If the 988 Minnesota Lifeline center is unable to answer the contact, the contact is automatically routed to a national backup center. Data on this page reflects information related to contacts answered by a local 988 Minnesota Lifeline center and excludes contacts answered by a national specialty line or national backup center.
The data represents the number of contacts (calls, texts, and chats) answered by 988 Minnesota Lifeline centers. Therefore, if the same individual contacted a 988 Minnesota Lifeline center multiple times, they are counted multiple times in the data.
