    2017 Annual Report (PDF)

    The Healthcare-Associated Infections in Minnesota Acute Care Hospitals Annual Report summarizes statewide NHSN healthcare-associated infection data reported by Minnesota acute care hospitals participating in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Inpatient Prospective Payment System. This report also summarizes the progress of all Minnesota acute care hospitals towards implementing CDC's antibiotic stewardship Core Elements as reported to NHSN.
  • Minnesota Hospital Quality Report
    The Minnesota Hospital Quality Report is designed to provide information to consumers and providers about the quality and safety of care in Minnesota hospitals. It was developed by the Minnesota Hospital Quality Partnership, which includes the Minnesota Hospital Association and Stratis Health (Minnesota’s Quality Improvement Organization).
  • Stratis Health: Minnesota Adverse Health Events Measurement Guide (PDF)
    Stratis Health has been reviewing reported adverse events, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans under contract with the Minnesota Department of Health since 2003. Through review of the reported events and communication with reporting organizations, Stratis Health has noted that organizations have challenges when creating strong measures, which allow them to know if their efforts are having the intended effect. Limited resources and tools are available to assist organizations through the process of developing, implementing, and evaluating their measurement strategy.


  • CDC: Healthcare-associated Infections in the United States, 2006-2016: A Story of Progress
    The Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP) has released National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) HAI data reports, along with an overall summary of HAI prevention progress that includes information from the Emerging Infections Program (EIP) hospital HAI and antimicrobial use prevalence survey, EIP invasive MRSA infection surveillance, and EIP CDI surveillance.
  • Hospital Compare
    Hospital Compare is a tool developed by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Department of Health and Human Services, and other members of the Hospital Quality Alliance: Improving Care Through Information (HQA). This tool provides information on how well hospitals care for patients with certain medical conditions or surgical procedures, and results from a survey of patients about the quality of care they received during a recent hospital stay.
