Virtual, one-hour sessions will feature dynamic speakers and panelists committed to sustaining high-quality, high-value primary care. There is no fee to participate. Upon completing a single registration, participants will be registered for all three sessions and will receive individual calendar invitations for each. Attendance at all sessions is encouraged but not required.

Healthcare Workforce Innovation, Culture, and Community Care
Join Dr. Victor Montori, Mayo Clinic professor, endocrinologist, researcher, and leader of the Patient Revolution movement, as he is interviewed by Dr. Nathan T. Chomilo, Medical Director for Minnesota’s Medicaid and MinnesotaCare programs. Together, they will explore:
- Responsible use of AI to support the workforce and patient care
- Patient-centered care delivery as a means of promoting clinician well-being
- The role of community-based care in sustaining healthcare systems

Dr. Victor Montori - Speaker
Victor M. Montori, MD is the Robert H. and Susan M. Rewoldt Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic. An endocrinologist, health services researcher, and care activist, Dr. Montori is the author of over 800 peer-reviewed publications. He is a recognized expert in evidence-based medicine, shared decision making, and minimally disruptive medicine. He works in Rochester, Minnesota, at Mayo Clinic's Knowledge and Evaluation Research (KER) Unit, to advance person-centered care for patients with diabetes and other chronic conditions. As a care activist, he authored the book Why We Revolt, and is leading a movement, The Patient Revolution, for Careful and Kind Care for all.

Dr. Nathan T Chomilo - Moderator
Dr. Nathan T. Chomilo’s work centers marginalized communities in health policy so that we can dismantle racism in health care & provide children & families an equitable opportunity for health & well-being. He also works to understand and demonstrate how physicians and health systems can be accountable for producing racial & health equity. He is the Medical Director for the State of Minnesota’s Medicaid & MinnesotaCare programs, practices as a General Pediatrician with Park Nicollet Health Services/HealthPartners and prior to working for the State he was also an internal medicine hospitalist. He was previously tapped by Governor Tim Walz to serve as the State of Minnesota’s COVID-19 vaccine equity director and as a Senior Advisor on Equity to the Minnesota Commissioner of Health. He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota Medical School and an Ascend Fellow at the Aspen Institute.

Alex Caldwell - Moderator
Alex has served as the inaugural director of the Center for Health Care Affordability at the Minnesota Department of Health since January 2025. As director, Caldwell leads the Center’s efforts to understand the key drivers of health care spending in Minnesota, engage the public on rising costs, develop research priorities, and propose data-driven policy solutions. Caldwell brings past experience in policy research, strategy development, and stakeholder engagement. Prior to joining MDH, she worked at FSG, where she partnered with philanthropic, nonprofit, and corporate leaders to design strategies and measurement approaches to improve health equity. Previously, at the Colorado Health Institute, Caldwell led teams of researchers and consultants in conducting needs assessments, evaluations, and policy analyses in partnership with government, philanthropic, and community leaders. Caldwell earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Dickinson College and a Master of Public Health from Columbia University.

Dr. Christine Albrecht - Panelist
Christine Albrecht is a Family Medicine Physician working as the Chief Medical Officer at Lakewood Health System in Staples, MN. Lakewood is a 25-bed critical access hospital and network of 5 rural health clinics. She currently sees patients in the emergency department, clinic, hospital floor and nursing home. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, board member of the Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians, and was in the inaugural class of the Minnesota Physician Leadership Institute collaboration by the Minnesota Medical Association and the University of Minnesota. She lives on an acreage with an apple orchard with her husband and three sons.

Nina Huntington - Panelist
Nina Huntington is a seasoned healthcare leader with more than a decade of experience spanning provider partnerships, network strategy, public-sector governance, and legislative advocacy. She currently serves as Director of Provider Partnerships at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, where she leads negotiations with strategic providers, advances value-based care initiatives, and builds high-impact relationships to improve affordability, quality, and network performance.

Angela Mattson - Panelist
Angela B. Mattson, DNP, RN, NE‑BC, is a Nurse Administrator at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota currently supporting the primary care practice. She partners closely with interprofessional teams to design, implement, and evaluate highly reliable, value‑based care models to improve patient outcomes. She is actively involved in the implementation and research of care models, supporting practices as they transition toward team‑based, accountable, and financially sustainable approaches to care delivery. She received her BA in Nursing from Saint Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota, her MS in Nursing from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, and her Post-MS DNP from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

Jonathan Watson - Moderator
Jonathan began his work with the Minnesota Association of Community Health Centers as Associate Director/Director of Public Policy in 1996. In 2017, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer. His background includes public policy analysis, fiscal analysis, and written and oral presentation. Prior to joining the Association, Jonathan served as a budget and policy analyst for the Wisconsin Department of Health & Family Services, where he conducted fiscal and policy analysis on Wisconsin’s Medicaid managed care expansion and on the “Wisconsin Works” welfare reform project. He holds a BA in economics from St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN, and a master’s degree in public & international Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh. Jonathan has also served on a number of statewide committees and task forces, including as the current Chair of the National Association of Community Health Centers Health Policy Committee.

Dr. Tori Bahr - Panelist
Tori Bahr MD, FAAP is an internal medicine and pediatric Complex Care physician and Section Chief of Pediatrics at Gillette Children's where she specializes in the coordination of care for patients with childhood onset medical complexity. Her passion for the work of supporting patients and families through their pediatric to adult healthcare transition started when she was a PCA for a young woman with muscular dystrophy and was strengthened throughout her training at the University of Minnesota. She is a fierce advocate for universal, yet individualized high-quality, evidence-based, and creative systems-based healthcare transition for young people and their families. She leads the multi-year Minnesota Healthcare Transition Learning Collaborative funded by the Minnesota Department of Health. She strives to inspire others across healthcare to embed transition into the care they provide every day.

Ken Westman - Panelist
With more than 30 years of rural healthcare experience, including over 20 years in C-level leadership roles, Ken Westman serves as CEO of Riverwood Healthcare Center. His leadership background includes 15 years as CEO of critical access hospitals and clinics, where he has championed innovation, collaboration, and people-centered care. Known as a forward-thinking healthcare visionary, Ken is a strong advocate for transforming healthcare delivery to create greater value for patients and populations through meaningful partnerships and community-focused solutions. He is the board chair of the Headwaters High Value Network, a clinically integrated network of over 20 rural, independent hospitals in Minnesota. He sits on several other healthcare related boards including OCHIN. He received his BA from St. Olaf College and MPH from the University of Minnesota.

Hannah Wieshalla - Panelist
Hannah Wieshalla is a healthcare finance and population health leader with more than 20 years of experience advancing value-based care, quality improvement, and financial sustainability across healthcare systems. She currently serves as Executive Director of Population Health and the Central Minnesota ACO at CentraCare, where she leads strategy and execution for value initiatives, including accountable care, performance improvement, care transformation, and patient engagement. Hannah’s work focuses on aligning clinical, operational, and financial strategies to improve outcomes, manage total cost of care, and strengthen patient and family engagement. She brings deep expertise in Medicare and Medicaid programs, alternative payment models, and Healthcare Home certification and operations. Originally from Browerville, Minnesota, Hannah’s small-town roots shape her practical, community-focused approach to care delivery. She is passionate about designing scalable models that support both rural and urban providers while improving access, quality, and patient experience across the continuum of care.
