Registration for MDH Trainings

Registration for on-demand learning is held in the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Learning Center. Each individual staff member will need to log in or follow the instructions to create their own account and register for a prerecorded webinar or training.

NOTE: When registering in the MDH Learning Center, please include the name of the organization that you work for and your professional role. (RD, RN, WIC CPA, PEER, etc.)

To Locate Trainings: Log on to the MDH Learning Center and search keyword “WIC” to view and register for available trainings. Detailed information about the training can be found on the registration page.

Date: Thursday, August 17, 2023: 8:30 am to 10:00 am

Description: Join us for a live webinar discussing the updates to worker protections for pregnant and new parents. Corey Walton (U.S. Department of Labor/Wage & Hour Division) and David Skovholt (Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry) will share updates and case examples highlighting the 2023 changes to the law.

Date: Friday, September 29, 2023: 8:30 am to 10:00 am

Description: In this presentation, Dr. Lindsey Wimmer will review the core principles of bereavement care for families experiencing the death of a baby during pregnancy or infancy. Participants will learn practical approaches to offering compassion and support and gain an appreciation for the complexities of this grief journey.

Objectives:

  • Describe holistic care for families preparing for or enduring perinatal death.
  • Review racial disparities in perinatal loss and cultural implications for bereavement.
  • Identify resources available to health professionals and families.

A Video Series Created for Continued Professional Development (PDF) The Adultitis Intervention Video Series is a tool created for WIC staff for professional development. The videos are short (5-8 minutes each), and may be used to start or wrap-up a meeting.

Search the Continuing Professional Education Database for preapproved CPE activities, offered through CDR accredited providers. The database can be used to search for local activities and used to reference activities previously taken.
