Minnesota Cancer Reporting System Rulemaking Revisions

AMENDMENTS TO RULES GOVERNING THE MINNESOTA CANCER REPORTING SYSTEM (MCRS)
The Minnesota Department of Health is considering updates to the Cancer Reporting System, Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4606. This rulemaking will address 2023 legislative changes, enable Minnesota to provide required federal grant information, update the rule to reflect changes in clinical practice, enable the department to meet statutory requirements, address technological changes, and address other technical changes.
A Request for Comments was published in the June 29, 2026, Minnesota State Register Volume 50 Number 52 (PDF). More detailed information on the changes can be found on the Request for Comments.
