Handout for school staff and administrators: Three Quick Steps to Help Students Quit Nicotine (PDF)

For the first time, Minnesota now has a free and confidential quit-nicotine program for teens: My Life, My Quit. Teens can enroll by texting “Start” to 36072 or visiting MyLifeMyQuit.com. My Life, My Quit logo

My Life, My Quit coaches can help teens quit all forms of commercial tobacco, including vaping, smoking, and chewing. When a teen enrolls, they can receive up to five one-on-one coaching sessions by text or phone, self-help and educational materials designed for teens, and additional support by text message, phone, or online chat. They can enroll as many times as they need.

Coaches have completed extensive training on adolescent cognitive and psychosocial development. Coaching helps teens develop a quit plan, identify triggers, practice refusal skills, and receive ongoing support for changing behaviors.

In addition, the My Life, My Quit website has resources for educators, parents/guardians, healthcare professionals, and community organizations.

Note: Any student age 13 or older can text “Start” to 36072 or visit MyLifeMyQuit.com to get started. Those who are 18 or older will automatically get transferred to Quit Partner, our program for adults (see below).
